Beginner’s Guide Writing Workshops offers a range of dynamic, short term writing workshops specialising in screenwriting, creative writing and creativity coaching.

We met at a film festival in 2016 when Kathryn was a guest speaker and Jonathan was an award recipient for his latest film. Enamoured with Kathryn’s engaging and authentic vibe, Jonathan attended Kathryn’s popular Beginner’s Guide to Screenwriting workshop and was “blown away”(actual own words!) by the practical knowledge he gained.

Cut to 2019, and a bunch of work meetings and collaborations later, we became friends and decided to combine our skill sets to create a series of friendly, dynamic, bite-sized writing workshops for New Zealand writers. This is our workshop philosophy: Nobody has to share if they don’t want to. Our workshops are a friendly non-judgement space – if you do want to share. All types of writers are welcome. And we want to help you along your writing journey! Come join us.
